A whopping fifty thousand people registered on Linda Ikeji Social, a social blogging community (or social networking/money making site if you like) in 24 hours.

This not-too-surprising piece of information was disclosed by Nigeria’s most popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, who owns the site, via Twitter yesterday.

Launched on November 1, 2016, Linda Ikeji Social is basically Facebook (most people have called it Red Facebook), and Linda Ikeji’s blog put together in one place.

On Linda Ikeji Social, users can chat, connect with friends, say whatever they got on their minds, share memories and get the latest breaking news.

What stands Linda Ikeji Social out from the rest however, is the money making part. The platform allows users to share juicy, authentic and exclusive content and earn some cash while doing so.

Also, users make money on the platform through ads placed on their pages (only applicable to users with 50k plus followers), and the massive weekly giveaways.

There has been a lot of noise since the platform launched, with different proponents giving their ‘expert opinion’ on why it may and may not succeed.

Whether or not Linda Ikeji Social dies or survives remains to be seen but users numbers like the aforementioned (a lot more users must have signed up since then) shows it is heading in the right direction, for now at least.
